What the role looks like
- 80% people leadership / strategy, 20% technical contribution
- Managing teams of ~10–15 engineers
- Driving delivery, execution, and engineering culture
- Partnering closely with Product & Design on roadmap and architecture
- Hiring, onboarding, and scaling engineering teams
Ideal Candidate Profile
We need strong startup EMs with real ownership experience, ideally:
- 7–10+ years engineering experience
- 3+ years as an Engineering Manager
- Currently or recently managing 8–15 engineers
- Background in Series A–D startups (fintech, AI, SaaS, B2B strongly preferred)
- Strong system design capability
- Experience in B2B SaaS, ideally fintech / payments / billing / revenue systems
- Comfortable working on-site in NYC 5 days per week
