Description
The Engineering Manager leads manufacturing engineering efforts to support efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective production. This role oversees a team of production/manufacturing engineers and ensures strong alignment between engineering and day-to-day operations. This position focuses on process optimization, production support, and continuous improvement to drive throughput, quality, and cost performance. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership & Execution Lead and develop a team of production/manufacturing engineers Set priorities aligned with production needs and business goals Ensure timely resolution of production and technical issues Coach team on problem-solving, process improvement, and cross-functional collaboration Manufacturing Process Ownership Design, improve, and standardize production processes Ensure processes are efficient, scalable, and repeatable Maintain SOPs, work instructions, and process documentation Drive consistency in tooling and manufacturing practices Production Support & Problem Solving Support production in resolving issues impacting output, scrap, and rework Lead root cause analysis and corrective actions Partner with operations to reduce downtime and variability Continuous Improvement Lead initiatives focused on throughput, efficiency, and scrap reduction Apply Lean and Six Sigma methodologies Track and deliver measurable improvements in key metrics Cost & Efficiency Optimization Identify cost savings through process and material improvements Improve labor utilization and cycle times Support data-driven operational improvements Quality & Compliance Partner with Quality to ensure compliance with internal and external standards Maintain controlled and audit-ready processes Support resolution of quality issues through engineering solutions Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with Production, Quality, Maintenance, and Supply Chain teams Align engineering priorities with operational needs Communicate risks, constraints, and progress to leadership Safety & Operational Excellence Ensure adherence to safety standards across all engineering activities Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement
