About the Role
We are seeking an Engineering Manager at Chime's San Francisco, CA office.
The base salary offered for this role will begin at $250,000 and up to $270,000. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.

To thrive in this role, you must have
Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in a software engineering manager/director-related occupation.
Position requires at least 5 years of experience in each of the following skills:
Utilize experience with leading and mentoring a team of software engineers by offering constructive feedback, resolving challenges, and fostering continuous professional growth to enhance team performance and drive technical excellence;
Utilize experience with cross-functional collaboration with engineering, product, security, and compliance teams while translating complex infrastructure topics into clear insights for executives, enabling strategic alignment and impactful decision-making.
Position requires at least 2 years of experience in each of the following skills:
Utilize knowledge of AWS services such as Dynamodb and Kinesis to architect, build, and deploy scalable, high-performance platform solutions that drive business-critical outcomes;
Utilize advanced knowledge of Event-driven software architecture principles to design and implement low-latency, secure data streaming pipelines that support real-time data processing at scale;
Utilize knowledge of tools including Terraform, CircleCI, ArgoCD, AWS CloudFormation, Docker and Kubernetes to enhance the reliability, scalability, and resiliency of platform infrastructure;
Utilize knowledge of tools like Datadog, GitHub Actions, PagerDuty and AWS CloudWatch to drive observability, reliability, and incident management;
Utilize experience with forging strategic relationships with third-party vendors, aligning support capabilities with large-scale platform needs and business objectives;
Utilize experience with a customer-centric culture, spearheading innovation and initiatives to enhance overall engineering productivity and drive continuous platform optimizations.
