$85 to $90 per hour contract with a conversion salary of $175K to $190K DOE

Job Summary
We're looking for an Engineering Manager – Search & Discovery to lead a team advancing our search platform through better relevance, ranking, and reliability. You'll define strategy, guide technical execution, and collaborate with cross-functional partners to make the search experience seamless and intelligent.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering strategy and delivery for search and discovery initiatives.
• Collaborate with Product, Analytics, and AI teams to define and execute the roadmap.
• Improve search quality through ML, NLP, and data-driven optimization.
• Ensure system scalability, performance, and reliability.
• Mentor and grow a high-performing engineering team.
• Promote a culture of technical excellence, collaboration, and continuous learning.

• 2+ years' experience managing cross-functional engineering teams.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Hands-on expertise in Machine Learning, NLP, and large-scale search systems.
• Strong knowledge of retrieval and ranking models, vector search, and hybrid retrieval.
• Proven track record delivering scalable, production-grade systems.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
