We're seeking a dynamic, innovative and experienced Engineering Manager to join our thriving Manufacturing team. This is a permanent position that offers an exciting opportunity to lead a team of engineers in the design, development, and implementation of our manufacturing processes. The selected candidate will play a crucial role in driving our success by ensuring the efficiency, effectiveness, and continuous improvement of our manufacturing operations. This role is ideally suited for a proactive, strategic thinker with a proven track record in engineering management and a keen eye for quality control.
Responsibilities:
As our Engineering Manager, you will:
1. Oversee the design and development of manufacturing processes to ensure efficient production.
2. Implement Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles to optimize process efficiency and reduce waste.
3. Lead and manage a team of engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
4. Drive product development, from conception to production, ensuring products meet quality standards and customer requirements.
5. Liaise with project management teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
6. Utilize SolidWorks or equivalent software for product design and engineering tasks.
7. Develop and implement robust quality control systems to ensure product integrity and compliance with industry standards.
8. Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency and product quality.
9. Manage operations, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and maintaining operational efficiency.
10. Provide technical leadership and guidance to your team, fostering an environment of learning and development.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, you should have:
1. A bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. An advanced degree would be a plus.
2. A minimum of 5 years' experience in engineering management in the manufacturing industry.
3. Proven experience in project management, engineering design, product development, and manufacturing processes.
4. Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and process improvement methodologies.
5. Proficiency in SolidWorks or equivalent engineering design software.
6. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage, motivate, and mentor a team of engineers.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong focus on quality control and continuous improvement.
8. Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with various stakeholders, including project management teams and production staff.
9. A proactive, strategic mindset with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to operational efficiency.
10. A valid engineering license or certification would be an advantage.
