Manage the Mechanical Drafters and Administrative Assistant in the Engineering Group. Support the engineering group in new product development, customer-specific products, production engineering, and quality initiatives.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leading research and development projects that produce new designs, products, and processes
Checking their team’s work for technical accuracy
Ensuring the validity of methods used by staff
Organizational Skills for keeping track of various projects, employees, and schedules simultaneously
Coordinating work with other managers and staff
Supervising the development of software tools used by staff
Hiring Supervising staff
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Requirements
BS or BSET in Engineering – disciplines of engineering include mechanical, industrial, robotics, computer science, mechatronic, or similar
5+ years’ experience in a similar role
Strong leadership, employee development and teamwork abilities
Effective communication, both verbal and written
Efficient computer and Microsoft software skills
Time management and problem-solving skills
Knowledge of steel types
Self-motivated, well-organized, and goal-oriented
Analytical skills for evaluating information carefully and solving complex problems
Communication Skills for working with customers and/or other management personnel
Able to effectively communicate instructions while leading a team to meet goals and detail-oriented for understanding complex systems
CAD experience (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, etc.); the ability to read blueprints and proficiently create and revise schematics or drawings
Self-motivated, confident, and professional in dealing with customers, both internal and external
Able to effectively interface with customers in both individual and group settings in order to conduct training, resolve system issues, or to promote solutions
Candidates must be eligible to work in the US with no sponsorship requirements needed now or in the future
Physical Requirements
Office: Will be required to sit at a desk using a computer, standing, and walking for 8 hours or more each day.
Manufacturing: Will be required to walk, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, and reach in various capacities throughout the day.
