During this assignment, the employee will be eligible for company benefits. There may be an opportunity to extend or shorten the contract based on project needs and individual performance.JOB SUMMARY: Perform highly technical mechanical and electromechanical assembly of low-volume, high-complexity products in support of engineering production. This role is responsible for precision assembly, system integration, troubleshooting, and validation of complex assemblies consisting of hundreds of components. Work closely with engineering and production leadership to ensure builds meet design intent, quality standards, and functional requirements, while providing feedback to improve manufacturability and repeatability.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.)Perform precision mechanical and electromechanical assembly of complex systems and subassembliesInterpret engineering drawings, CAD models, BOMs, schematics, and detailed work instructionsExecute system-level integration including alignment, fitting, fastening, and component installationTroubleshoot mechanical and electromechanical assembly issues and implement corrective actionsPerform rework, repairs, and adjustments to meet engineering and quality requirementsConduct functional testing, validation, and verification of assembled productsSupport prototype builds and transition of designs into repeatable low-volume productionProvide feedback to engineering regarding design issues, tolerance stack-ups, and manufacturability improvementsPerform basic fabrication tasks such as cutting, drilling, tapping, and minor machining as requiredExecute soldering and wiring tasks following proper workmanship and ESD-safe practicesMaintain accurate build records, documentation, and quality traceabilityEnsure compliance with safety and quality standardsMaintain clean, organized, and efficient work areasOTHER FUNCTIONS:Assist with continuous improvement efforts related to assembly processes and documentationSupport cross-functional teams as neededPerforms other duties when required that are outside of normal job duties.SUPERVISION GIVEN/RECEIVED: This position is under the direct supervision of the Manager of Mechanical Engineering and the Engineering Production Team Lead. This position does not have any supervisory responsibility.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Associate's degree or equivalent experience in mechanical, manufacturing, or related technical field2+ years of experience in technical assembly, production, or engineering support environmentStrong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and work instructionsHands-on experience with mechanical assembly and integration of complex systemsDemonstrated troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in technical environmentsExperience using hand tools, precision measurement tools, and basic test equipmentAbility to document work and communicate technical findings clearlyPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Experience with electromechanical assemblies (wiring, sensors, actuators, etc.)Background in low-volume, high-mix or prototype/engineering production environmentsFamiliarity with GD&T, tolerances, and precision alignment techniquesExperience with soldering and ESD-controlled work environmentsBasic machining or fabrication experience (mill, lathe, drill press, etc.)Experience collaborating directly with engineering teamsAbility to read, write, and speak Spanish, Vietnamese, and/or Chinese.PHYSICAL DEMANDS: The employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, talk, hear, and see. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or reach with hands and arms. The employee will regularly multi-task between projects, be required to move throughout the office building, and effectively communicate.WORK ENVIRONMENT: The environment is fast-paced; time pressured, and requires accuracy.
