Job Summary
The Engineering Project Lead is responsible for leading engineering-driven aerospace and defense projects from concept through production support. This role combines technical leadership, customer coordination, project execution, manufacturing integration, and regulatory compliance oversight.
Key Responsibilities
· Lead engineering projects involving aerospace cable assemblies, electronics integration, and manufacturing support activities.
· Coordinate engineering schedules, technical deliverables, and cross-functional project execution activities.
· Serve as the primary engineering interface with customers, suppliers, manufacturing personnel, and executive management.
· Develop and maintain engineering drawings, procedures, work instructions, and technical reports.
· Support prototype development, first article builds, and production transition activities.
· Coordinate troubleshooting, RCA, CAPA, and technical issue resolution.
· Support configuration management, document control, and traceability requirements.
· Ensure compliance with AS9100D, ITAR/EAR, OSHA, IPC, and customer-specific requirements.
Required Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physics, or related technical discipline (preferred).
· Minimum seven (7) years of engineering, technical leadership, or aerospace manufacturing experience.
· Demonstrated experience leading engineering projects or technical teams.
· Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, specifications, and technical documentation.
· Working knowledge of aerospace cable manufacturing, electronics integration, and production support activities.
· Experience with project scheduling, technical coordination, and risk management.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· U.S. Citizenship (required under ITAR/EAR).
Preferred Certifications
· Project Management Professional (PMP) certification (preferred).
· AS9100 Internal Auditor training or certification (preferred).
· IPC/WHMA-A-620 familiarity or certification (preferred).
· Root Cause Analysis and CAPA training (preferred).
Employment Conditions
This is a full-time, on-site position (40-hour standard work week).
This position is offered with a 6-month probationary period.
