Position Overview:
The Operations Program Manager is responsible for the execution of operational activities across assigned aerospace programs, ensuring customer commitments for quality, delivery, cost, and schedule are achieved. This role serves as the primary liaison between customers, Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) - Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Quality organizations. The position drives operational excellence through proactive part expediting, removal of production roadblocks, risk mitigation, capacity planning, recovery management, and execution of manufacturing and supply chain strategies to ensure on-time delivery and customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities
Essential Responsibilities:
Serve as the primary Operations focal point for assigned programs, providing leadership and coordination across Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Planning, Quality, Engineering and Customer Service teams.
Act as the operational liaison between Internal High Performance Work Teams (HPWT) and customers to ensure alignment on priorities, schedules, risks, and recovery plans. Facilitate communication and drive timely resolution of program execution challenges.
Lead daily and weekly program execution reviews to identify schedule risks, material shortages, capacity constraints, and quality concerns that may impact customer deliveries.
Drive cross-functional alignment and accountability to remove operational roadblocks impacting production flow, critical deliveries, inventory availability, and manufacturing throughput.
Proactively expedite critical components, raw materials, outside processing, and customer-furnished equipment through the supply chain to support production schedules and customer commitments. Coordinate with material management team - suppliers, buyers, planners, and internal stakeholders to resolve shortages and minimize downtime.
Partner with Supply Chain and Planning teams to prioritize constrained materials and manufacturing resources based on customer commitments, business priorities, and program risks.
Lead escalation efforts for material shortages, supplier delivery issues, quality escapes, engineering changes, and production constraints by coordinating corrective actions across multiple functions.
Monitor and manage hardware status from receipt through shipment, ensuring timely movement of components and assemblies through manufacturing operations.
Establish and manage recovery plans for delinquent orders, past due demand, supplier performance issues, and customer schedule changes.
Facilitate executive-level discussions internally and with customers regarding production risks, mitigation strategies, material availability, and delivery commitments.
Coordinate customer delivery commitments and communicate schedule changes, risk assessments, and recovery actions to internal and external stakeholders as required.
Partner with customers to understand forecast changes, priority shifts, critical production requirements, and escalation items while ensuring operational readiness to support demand.
Participate in efforts to improve manufacturing flow, inventory management, production planning accuracy, and operational execution through Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives.
Analyze operational performance metrics including on-time delivery, backlog health, shortage status, production attainment, inventory levels, and supplier performance; develop action plans to improve results.
Coordinate implementation of Engineering & Manufacturing Change Orders (ECOs & MCOs), configuration changes, and customer-directed changes while minimizing production disruption.
Support contract reviews, proposal activities, production readiness reviews, customer program reviews, and strategic business planning efforts

Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related technical discipline.
Aerospace, defense, or highly regulated manufacturing industry experience.
Experience serving as the operational liaison between customers, Program Management, and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
Experience managing production recovery plans, schedule execution, and delivery performance in a high-mix manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated success expediting critical components, resolving material shortages, and mitigating supply chain risks.
Experience leading recurring operations reviews, customer delivery reviews, and executive-level program reviews.
Knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes, AS9100 quality standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.
PMP, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma Green Belt/Black Belt, APICS/CPIM, or equivalent certification.
Experience utilizing ERP/MRP systems such as SAP, MFGPRO, or equivalent.
Experience with capacity planning, Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), demand forecasting, and inventory optimization.
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum 2-5+ years of experience in Program Management, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Production Control, or related functions within a manufacturing environment.
Experience leading cross-functional teams to achieve delivery, cost, quality, and schedule objectives.
Demonstrated experience managing operational performance, production schedules, material shortages, and customer delivery commitments.
Strong knowledge of manufacturing operations, production planning, inventory management, and supply chain processes.
Experience identifying and resolving operational roadblocks impacting production flow and customer deliveries.
Proven ability to drive accountability and results in a matrixed environment without direct authority.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and organizational skills.
Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively with customers, senior leadership, and cross-functional teams.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel, Power BI, Project, and ERP/MRP systems.
Understanding of financial forecasting, and operational metrics management.
Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders and lead change across multiple functions, business units, customers, and suppliers.

Additional Information:
Position requires interaction with customers, customer representatives, auditors, regulatory agencies and all internal departments/functions/levels.
Limited travel may be required (10 - 15%)
