The Engineer II / Project Manager Engineering II is responsible for managing capital engineering projects from initiation through completion (“cradle to grave”). These roles support either base capital projects at existing generation facilities (natural gas and coal) or strategic capital initiatives involving large, complex projects such as renewable energy systems and major infrastructure upgrades. Both positions require strong technical engineering knowledge combined with project management expertise to ensure safe, cost-effective, and timely project execution.What they will be doing/ working on:Plan and manage engineering projects from start to finish.Work with engineers, contractors, vendors, and plant personnel to coordinate project activities.Create and track project schedules and budgets.Review engineering drawings and technical documents.Visit power plants and project sites to check progress and resolve issues.Help purchase equipment and hire contractors or engineering consultants.Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and contract requirements.Coordinate final project turnover to operations teams once construction is complete.Must Have Skills:5–7+ years of engineering experience (preferred for Level II roles)2+ years of project management experienceProficiency in Microsoft Office SuiteStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to lead cross-functional teams and align stakeholdersHighly organized with strong prioritization and multitasking abilityBachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline)Key ResponsibilitiesLead full lifecycle project management including scope development, execution, and closeoutValidate project justification and ensure stakeholder requirements are incorporated into scopeManage project budget, schedule, quality, and safety performanceCoordinate procurement activities including hiring engineering consultants, contractors, and ordering materials/equipmentOversee project execution and conduct periodic field visits to monitor progressEnsure compliance with contract requirements for vendors, contractors, and suppliersReview and support design documentation and engineering drawingsConduct vendor/shop inspections and witness equipment testing when neededCollaborate cross-functionally with operations, environmental, sourcing, project controls, and engineering teamsFacilitate project closeout and transition to operations teamsRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, or related discipline)5–7+ years of engineering experience (preferred for Level II roles)Minimum 2+ years of project management experienceExperience in utility, energy, or oil & gas industries preferredProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and SAP (preferred)Preferred CertificationsFundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam completionProject Management Professional (PMP) – nice to haveProfessional Engineer (PE) – beneficial for long-term growth#J-18808-Ljbffr
