Job Title: Engineering Repair TechnicianJob Description

The Engineering Repair Technician conducts, maintains, tests, and repairs electrical and electronic components at an advanced level. This role focuses on diagnosing complex issues down to the component level, performing precision repair work, and supporting other technicians through training and guidance, all while maintaining high quality standards and a clean, organized work area.

Responsibilities

  • Test, diagnose, and repair a wide range of electronic components with a focus on component-level troubleshooting.
  • Analyze complex technical issues down to the component level and determine effective repair solutions.
  • Resolve intricate technical challenges through systematic troubleshooting and analytical thinking.
  • Interpret and work from sophisticated electrical and electronic schematics to perform repairs and modifications.
  • Perform advanced soldering and de-soldering on printed circuit boards, including surface-mount and through-hole components.
  • Provide training, guidance, and support to other technicians on repair processes and best practices.
  • Comply with established quality performance standards and ensure all work meets required specifications.
  • Maintain the work area, tools, and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe condition.
  • Handle hard drive devices carefully while adhering to ESD (electrostatic discharge) policy standards.
  • Utilize test equipment effectively to evaluate, diagnose, and confirm the performance of electronic circuits and components.
  • Manage multiple repair tasks simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Work both autonomously and collaboratively with team members to meet production and quality goals.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of a 2-year Electronics degree or equivalent electronics certification.
  • At least 2+ years of experience as a proficient electronics technician.
  • Ability to pass a Technical Aptitude Test, when applicable.
  • Thorough comprehension of various technology systems and applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of electronic circuit components and electronic theory.
  • Proficiency in utilizing electronic test equipment for diagnosis and verification.
  • Strong skills in soldering and de-soldering techniques, including surface-mount and through-hole components.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair down to the component level using analytical thinking and robust problem-solving skills.
  • Experience handling hard drive devices while following ESD policy standards.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team.
  • High level of thoroughness and attention to detail in completing technical tasks.

Work Environment

This position operates in a technical repair and engineering environment focused on electronic component and circuit board diagnostics and repair. The role is assigned to a first shift schedule, typically from 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Work is performed at a workstation equipped with test instruments, soldering and de-soldering tools, and ESD-protected areas for handling sensitive electronic components and hard drive devices. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and organization, with established quality standards and procedures guiding daily activities. Team members collaborate closely while also working independently on assigned repairs, using advanced schematics and test equipment to support high-volume, high-quality repair operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Coatesville, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
