Position Summary

The Engineering Services and Software Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the Product Development computing environment. This role is critical in advancing the organization's transition from a drawing-centric to a data-centric engineering model, enabling integration with downstream product lifecycle, manufacturing, and business systems.

The position operates across three core dimensions: People, Performance, and Projects, and requires close collaboration with Engineering, IT, Manufacturing, and enterprise systems teams.

Key Responsibilities

Engineering Systems Administration

  • Structure, test, and implement Creo software updates in coordination with IT deployment automation
  • Maintain Creo configurations, including end-user settings and publishing standards
  • Implement and monitor Creo data quality tools and associated metrics
  • Administer Windchill environments, including contexts, user access, and group permissions
  • Maintain Windchill libraries (materials, templates, UDFs, symbols, tables)
  • Develop and enforce Windchill workspace hygiene standards
  • Manage SolidWorks installations and integration with Windchill Workgroup Manager
  • Support Product View drawing database processes, including publishing and automation
  • Partner with IT to maintain engineering workstation builds and configurations

Data Management & Process Integrity

  • Ensure synchronization and integrity between Product View drawing database and Windchill-managed source data
  • Promote use of configuration over customization in enterprise PLM solutions
  • Maintain engineering software compatibility matrix across platforms
  • Support downstream consumption of engineering data across business processes

Collaboration & Cross-Functional Support

  • Coordinate with Engineering Systems Manager on software lifecycle management
  • Support engineering simulation tools (e.g., Ansys, Moldflow) as needed
  • Coordinate integration of 3D scanning and additive manufacturing workflows
  • Facilitate collaboration across Product Development, IT, and Manufacturing teams

Training & Knowledge Management

  • Coordinate and manage training for Creo and Windchill users
  • Document company-specific Creo and Windchill standards, best practices, and procedures
  • Support onboarding and continuous skill development of engineering staff
  • Promote knowledge transfer and self-sufficiency within the user community

Continuous Improvement & Project Execution

  • Develop detailed project plans (scope, milestones, resources, timelines, impacts)
  • Support Engineering Services continuous improvement initiatives
  • Drive adoption of scalable, standardized, and maintainable solutions
  • Maintain accurate project status reporting and metrics

Performance & Operational Excellence

  • Deliver high-quality services aligned with SLA commitments
  • Monitor and improve system performance and process efficiency
  • Maintain accurate reporting and performance metrics
  • Contribute to departmental financial and operational objectives

Professional Expectations

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering) or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 4 years of professional experience using PTC Creo and Windchill
  • Experience with CAM and FEA is preferred but not required
  • Proficiency in computer hardware, software installation, and system integration
  • Experience with wired and wireless Ethernet networks
  • Current knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems; familiarity with Linux and macOS is a plus
  • Strong conceptual, analytical, teaching, and communication skills
  • Ability to provide one-on-one technical instruction and support
  • Ability to deliver training to groups in both online and in-person environments
  • Demonstrated resourcefulness and problem-solving ability
