Make an Impact Through Capital Investment and Operational Excellence

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Specialist to lead and deliver capital investment projects that drive operational excellence, manufacturing efficiency, sustainability, and long-term business growth. This role offers the opportunity to manage the full lifecycle of CAPEX projects—from concept development and business case creation through design, procurement, installation, commissioning, and operational handoff.

As a key member of the Engineering team, you will partner with Operations, Maintenance, EHS, Procurement, and Leadership teams to execute strategic manufacturing projects that improve productivity, reliability, safety, and cost performance across our processing and manufacturing operations.

This position is ideal for an engineer who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has a proven track record of successfully managing capital projects, leading cross-functional teams, and delivering measurable business results.

What You'll Do

Lead Capital Project Execution
  • Manage multiple CAPEX projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery on scope, schedule, budget, and performance objectives.
  • Lead projects through the complete project lifecycle including feasibility studies, business case development, engineering design, procurement, installation, commissioning, validation, and startup.
  • Develop technical specifications, engineering drawings, project schedules, and contractor scopes of work.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders, external vendors, engineering consultants, and contractors to ensure successful project execution.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation plans to maintain project performance and delivery timelines.
  • Drive implementation of manufacturing, facility, utility, automation, and infrastructure projects aligned with business objectives.

Manufacturing Engineering & Continuous Improvement
  • Partner with Operations and Maintenance teams to improve equipment reliability, process capability, production efficiency, and asset performance.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and engineering solutions that enhance productivity, quality, sustainability, and operational effectiveness.
  • Support process optimization initiatives and continuous improvement projects using data-driven decision-making.
  • Lead technical evaluations and provide engineering expertise for operational and expansion projects.
  • Ensure effective transition of newly installed equipment and systems to operational teams through structured commissioning and handover processes.
CAPEX Planning & Financial Management
  • Support the development and execution of the annual capital investment strategy.
  • Build robust financial justifications, ROI analyses, and investment proposals for capital projects.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, cost tracking, and financial reporting to ensure effective utilization of capital resources.
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives through engineering innovation, resource optimization, and project execution excellence.
  • Maintain accountability for CAPEX spending and project financial performance.
Engineering Standards, Compliance & Safety
  • Ensure all projects comply with applicable engineering standards, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Provide technical leadership across mechanical, electrical, automation, civil, utility, and facility engineering disciplines.
  • Partner closely with EHS teams to ensure safe project execution and compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and risk assessments while promoting a strong safety culture throughout project activities.
Sustainability & Energy Management
  • Lead and support initiatives focused on energy efficiency, resource conservation, and sustainability improvements.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption, utility costs, and environmental impact across manufacturing operations.
  • Support ISO 50001 and other sustainability-related initiatives through engineering analysis and project implementation.
  • Conduct facility assessments, energy audits, and resource utilization studies to drive continuous improvement.
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, Chemical, Manufacturing, or related Engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of engineering experience managing capital projects within a manufacturing, industrial, processing, or production environment.
  • Demonstrated experience leading CAPEX projects from concept through commissioning and operational handoff.
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, engineering design, contractor management, and manufacturing systems.
  • Experience developing project budgets, financial justifications, ROI analyses, and capital investment proposals.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment installation, process improvement, and asset reliability principles.
  • Experience collaborating across Operations, Maintenance, EHS, Procurement, and Leadership teams.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP, Power BI, and project management tools.
  • Strong communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
