Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor

Location: Gardena, CA (On-site)

About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Manufacturing Engineering Supervisor to support production operations and drive manufacturing excellence for high-strength structural aerospace fasteners.

This role is ideal for a senior manufacturing engineer ready to step into leadership or an experienced supervisor who enjoys staying close to the manufacturing floor. You will serve as a player-coach, providing direct technical support while leading a small team of 3 engineers and helping guide engineering and production efforts.

Responsibilities

  • Provide hands-on engineering support on the manufacturing floor, resolving production issues and improving processes
  • Lead and support a small team of 3 manufacturing/process engineers and CNC programmers
  • Develop, standardize, and maintain manufacturing processes, including work instructions, routings, and documentation
  • Oversee and support CNC machining operations including turning, milling, thread rolling, and secondary processes
  • Optimize CNC programs, tooling, setups, and fixtures to improve efficiency, repeatability, and throughput
  • Support new product introduction (NPI), first article inspection (FAI), and process validation
  • Lead and participate in root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions (CAPA)
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, FAA requirements, and customer specifications
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on cycle time, cost, and quality
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Quality, Supply Chain, and Program teams

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on engineering experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of CNC machining processes including turning, milling, tooling, and setups
  • Experience working within an AS9100-certified environment
  • Hands-on experience supporting production and manufacturing operations (not just design or R&D)
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience in root cause analysis and corrective actions

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with structural aerospace fasteners or similar precision components
  • Familiarity with thread standards, coatings, heat treatment, and tolerance requirements
  • Proficiency in GD&T and inspection methods
  • Experience supporting OEM or Tier 1 aerospace customers
  • Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma experience

Compensation

  • Salary range: $130,000 – $150,000 per year, with flexibility based on experience and qualifications

Additional Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work under ITAR regulations (U.S. Person required)
  • Ability to work on-site in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to lift up to 35 pounds and work on the production floor as needed
