We are seeking an Engineering Team Lead to Provide leadership, coaching, and technical oversight for a team of Controls Systems Engineers, Technicians, and Specialists while also serving as a hands-on contributor to Building Automation Services (BAS) projects. This player/coach role combines people leadership with advanced controls engineering expertise to ensure successful project delivery, client satisfaction, and team development.
General Job Duties:
- Lead, mentor, coach, and develop a team of Controls Systems Engineers, Technicians, and Specialists.
- Conduct performance reviews, establish development goals, and support career growth for assigned team members.
- Execute BAS projects while maintaining scope, schedule, budget, and quality expectations.
- Deliver controls engineering, commissioning, PLC programming, and SCADA integration services.
- Perform onsite troubleshooting, testing, commissioning, and technical support activities.
- Partner with project management, engineering, commissioning, and commercial teams to ensure successful project execution.
- Drive client satisfaction and maintain strong customer relationships throughout project lifecycles.
- Support resource planning, utilization management, and scheduling for assigned team members.
- Assist with the development of controls standards, best practices, and team processes.
- Participate in pre-sales activities including project scoping, bill of materials development, and proposal support.
- Support recruiting, hiring, and onboarding activities as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience Needed:
- Bachelor''s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or related field; equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
- 5-8+ years of experience in industrial automation, controls engineering, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience leading, mentoring, and managing technical teams.
- Strong experience with PLC programming, SCADA systems, industrial automation, and application programming.
- Advanced understanding of controls systems, SCADA, PLCs, and building or power management systems.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Working knowledge of networking and TCP/IP communications.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and leadership skills.
- Ability to travel up to 50% to support client sites.
- Technical certifications and prior BAS industry experience are preferred.
