Protech Staffing is currently seeking a motivated Test Engineering Technician to join an established production team. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career technician or engineer looking to gain hands-on experience supporting consumer electronics testing in a manufacturing environment.
As a Test Engineering Technician, you will support, maintain, and improve test systems used on the production line. This role focuses on troubleshooting, system calibration, performance optimization, and collaboration with engineering and software teams to ensure reliable and efficient testing operations.
Key Responsibilities
Support and maintain test systems used for testing consumer electronics on the production line.
Troubleshoot test system failures, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
Analyze technical requirements and estimate effort associated with test systems and products.
Generate and maintain engineering documentation, including schematics, diagnostics, flowcharts, and project status reports.
Configure, calibrate, and validate test systems to meet production requirements.
Monitor tester performance and implement improvements to increase efficiency and reliability.
Identify and report software defects to the development team with clear documentation.
Implement new software releases into test systems and perform software and hardware upgrades as required.
Work closely with production, engineering, and customer teams to support manufacturing goals.
Perform additional duties as assigned by management or supervision.
Required Skills & Qualifications
Associate Degree or Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Electronics, or a related technical field.
Basic knowledge of electrical and electronic principles.
02 years of experience in Test Engineering and/or production shop floor environments.
Strong analytical mindset with a clear, disciplined approach to solving engineering problems.
Basic knowledge of one or more programming or diagnostic tools, including:
C, C#, C++
Python
JTAG
CLI or Linux-based applications
Understanding of Android and/or iOS phone testing is a plus.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to follow up and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to interact professionally with customers and internal teams in both written and verbal communications.
