The R&D Tech Engineer will support On-premises infrastructure and applications and needs to have deep Linux administration expertise, strong documentation and a reliability-first mindset. The candidate will closely interact with application development, cybersecurity, networking, and operations teams to improve product and development environment reliability, deployment efficiency, and platform resilience.
The ideal candidate should have 3 or more required skills and one or more soft skills.
Required Skills
Perform Linux OS provisioning, patching, upgrades, kernel updates, and lifecycle management.
Dependency Diagram, Data-flow diagrams, sequence diagrams
Monitoring to include Syslog, Splunk, ELK
Network filers- NFSv4 and Kerberos based ACL for file shares and network storage devices
DB Backups and config.
Virtualization expertise to include Proxmox and RedHat virt-who
Nice to have Skills
Nagios / Zabbix /Grafana - Develop dashboards, alerts, and operational runbooks.
CIFS and SMB and network mounting of folders across windows and Linux
DNS. DHCP, TCP/IP Networking Administer, maintain, and optimize RHEL environments
GPU passthrough on virtual machines to allow GPU specific applications
Perforce, Git
Support audit, compliance, and governance requirements.
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to address risks and maintain security baselines.
Participate in an on-call schedule and respond to infrastructure related incidents and service disruptions.
Soft Skills
Excellent written and verbal communication Documentation and diagrams (preferred)
Continuous improvement and automation mindset with root-cause remediation
Ability to follow documentation and record steps for validation

Education
Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related field (or equivalent experience).
