Job Overview

Prolim is hiring Engineering Technician 1 professionals for a contract opportunity with Northrop Grumman Corporation in Redondo Beach, CA.

This position supports the Integration Test & Launch (IT&L) organization working with space flight hardware in a challenging, hands-on engineering environment. The selected candidate will support the assembly, integration, and testing of flight hardware while following blueprints, specifications, and detailed work instructions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble, integrate, and test space flight hardware.
• Interpret and follow blueprints, specifications, assembly drawings, and work instructions.
• Handle and assemble delicate and ESD-sensitive flight hardware.
• Use mechanical and electrical hand tools to perform assembly and integration activities.
• Support occasional assembly of non-flight Ground Support Equipment (GSE).
• Use tools and measurement devices during assembly and testing activities.
• Work with forklifts, cranes, and associated rigging equipment as required.
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and hardware protection.
• Work effectively in a dynamic team environment.
• Follow production specifications, technical documentation, and established procedures.
• Support integration and test activities for space flight hardware.
• Maintain organized work areas and properly handle sensitive hardware and equipment.
• Use computers and Microsoft tools for required manufacturing/engineering activities.

Required Qualifications

• 2-5 years of relevant experience in an engineering, manufacturing, assembly, or technician environment.
• Ability to assemble and handle delicate hardware using mechanical and electrical tools.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 35 lbs.
• Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions.
• Basic understanding of mechanical principles.
• Ability to comprehend and work from blueprints.
• Knowledge of hand tools and measurement devices.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft tools.
• U.S. Citizenship required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with mechanical and electrical tools and hardware.
• Ability to read and interpret:
• Production specifications
• Production diagrams
• Assembly drawings
• Technical specifications
• Experience working with delicate or ESD-sensitive hardware.
• Experience with aerospace, space, defense, manufacturing, integration, or test environments.
• Experience with forklifts, cranes, or rigging equipment.
