These industries include specialty alloys, non-ferrous metals, chemical/petrochemical processing, power generation, industrial process heating and mining.The proprietary Blasch Process is a unique, proprietary forming method developed to produce net shape and near net shape ceramic parts exhibiting very attractive physical properties. Many of the products produced by Blasch have complex shapes that could not be produced with other existing ceramic technology. As a result, several patents exist covering Blasch's unique processes and technology.Position OverviewThe Engineering Technician is responsible for mold setup and verification, operational validation and release to production.Duties and ResponsibilitiesMold setup by:Tracking incoming mold components and promptly communicating exceptions and delaysSourcing hardware required for mold assembly/setup per mold drawing Bill of MaterialsVerification of incoming mold components against purchase requirements, reporting and tracking quality issues and non-conformancesCompleting mold assembly to print and on time to meet scheduleMold validation / Execution of Tooling Inspection Report (TIR) by:Regular communication of TIR schedule and statusCoordinating with Operations to schedule first part casting, finishing and firingAssisting with successful first part casting in collaboration with Process Engineering and Operations, making mold modifications as requiredSupporting Operations and/or Process Engineering as needed with part finishing, kiln settering and firingSigning off on Engineering mold release and communicating as-built changes to mold designerMold Troubleshooting by:Support Process Engineering Assistance Requests (PEARs) by proposing and/or executing mold modifications to address process or operational challenges and/or improvementsCommunicating as-built changes to Engineering for documentationAssist and support Process Engineering as requiredAssist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives as requiredOther related tasks as requiredMaintain a clean and safe work area.All other tasks as assigned by the manager.Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job. Occasional Saturday/Sunday hours may be required.TravelNo travel is expected for this position.Required Education and ExperienceHigh school graduate or GED qualified.Desire and willingness to learn, in a predetermined probation period, the minimum skills required to meet and maintain acceptable quality and productivity standards.Must possess the ability and desire to work as part of a team taking direction from Leadership, Trainers, Engineering staff or as directed by Management.Mechanical aptitude utilizing hand and power tools.Ability to read, understand and communicate Work instructions and documented Process cards with special instructions.Visually able to identify voids, cracks and deformations on all surfaces of parts formed.Ability to lift 50lbs. unassisted.Preferred Education and ExperiencePrevious ceramic manufacturing experience of (1) or more years OR (2) or more years of continuous employment in a non-assembly line manufacturing environment.#J-18808-Ljbffr
