Engineering Technician

Overview:
We are hiring on behalf of our client for a hands-on and highly skilled Engineering Technician to take ownership of laser welding operations and related processes.

This role is ideal for a technically strong individual who thrives in an autonomous, engineering-driven environment and is confident managing equipment, improving processes, and delivering high-quality results. The Engineering Technician will play a key role in supporting precision welding, motion control systems, and ongoing process development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Own and manage laser welding operations from setup through full production
• Operate and support motion control systems, including XY and XYZ rotation platforms
• Perform TIG welding and evaluate weld quality against engineering standards
• Conduct testing and validation on components when not actively welding
• Collaborate with engineering teams to drive process improvements and optimization
• Design and fabricate custom fixtures and tooling
• Work with small, precision components on table-based machine systems
• Utilize metrology tools to inspect, measure, and verify part quality
• Support CNC-related operations and interpret machining processes
• Assist with laser cutting and additional welding applications as needed

Qualifications:

• Experience with G-Code programming and interpretation
• Strong understanding of welding techniques, including TIG welding
• Proven ability to produce and assess high-quality welds
• Hands-on experience with fixture design and fabrication
• Background in CNC machining or similar manufacturing environments
• Familiarity with multi-axis motion control systems
• Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to work with small, detailed components
• Ability to work independently and take full ownership of processes
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with laser welding and/or laser cutting
• Familiarity with SolidWorks or similar CAD software
• Background in highly regulated or precision-driven industries such as medical device or aerospace manufacturing
