Summary About the Position: The Walla Walla District US Army Corps of Engineers is comprised of motivated and talented employees providing the very best engineering services for communities in the Pacific Northwest. Responsibilities Serve as the Geospatial Technician (Survey) for the Walla Walla District. Perform Surveying and Mapping services. Utilize Computer-Aided Design (CAD), Building Information Modeling (BIM), advanced modeling, and Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Create contract specifications, Architect-Engineer (A-E) service contracts, contract drawings, scope of work, government estimates, negotiation of contracts, and field data collection and reduction. Support large, multi-functional civil works projects during the planning, design, construction, and operation phases. GS-7 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes learning theories, principles, concepts, standards, and/or methods of fundamental surveying of field data collection. (Must be well documented in resume to be considered). This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-6). Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06). This position requires a 1 year probationary period during which the agency evaluates your fitness and whether your continued employment advances the public interest. Management will select at the GS-7 level only. Non-competitive Promotion Potential to the Target Grade (GS-11) Career Progression is single interval, GS-7/8/9/10/11. You must meet one year time in grade before being promoted to the next higher grade. GS-7 Pay Range is $50,460 - $65,599. The Target grade, GS-11, has a salary range of $74,678 - $97,087.
