John Deere is seeking a hands-on Engineering Technician to support product testing and validation activities within a lab environment. This role is ideal for someone with strong mechanical aptitude who enjoys working with equipment, troubleshooting issues, collecting test data, and supporting engineers throughout the testing process.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up and configure test equipment, fixtures, instrumentation, and test articles according to established procedures.
• Execute product and component performance tests using both computer-controlled and mechanical control systems.
• Collect, record, and organize test data using digital and analog measurement systems.
• Troubleshoot test setups, equipment, and instrumentation as needed.
• Work closely with engineers and technicians to communicate test progress, issues, and results.
• Support test teardown, lab cleanup, equipment reset, and preparation for future testing activities.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical documentation.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience using power tools and shop equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in Engineering Technology or a related technical field.
• Experience in a testing, validation, laboratory, or manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of refrigeration systems and components.
• Basic understanding of heat transfer principles.
• Familiarity with electrical systems and PLC programming.
• Experience working with instrumentation, sensors, and data acquisition equipment.
