    Overview

    ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (F3009 2026-25823):

    Bowhead seeks an Engineering Technician to join the Strategic Systems Test and Production Branch at Crane, IN. The Engineering Technician will be working with engineers and must have knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical measurement skills and must have experience with the quality process. 

    Responsibilities

    Essential responsibilities will include:

    • Working with engineers to define and document requirements for various products including electro-static and fiber-optic gyro navigators and other navigation sensor technologies.

    • Assisting to compile market research on applicable products.

    • Assisting engineers in developing test plans, schedules and tests for various products.

    • Working with both internal and external government agencies to plan/schedule/perform multitude of tests for various products.

    • Will be responsible for the timely procurement of products for the task.

    • Assisting engineers with scheduling and coordinating production efforts for government furnished equipment’s.

    • Operating equipment to measure and evaluate various components that are used in the strategic weapon system.

    • Assisting engineers in providing failure analysis and problem resolution on program products.

    • Help in providing technical reports and analyses, presentations, status reports, cost / performance tradeoff studies, and risk assessments.

    • Help in preparing progress reports and financial summaries for management.

    • Must have a thorough understanding of standard quality processes.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    •  An Associate’s degree is required at a minimum in addition to at least 5 (5+) years of experience however additional experience may be substituted for formal education for highly qualified candidates
    • ESD training will be completed on the job
    • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
    • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
    • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

    Physical Demands:

    • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
    • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
    • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

    SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS:Must be able to obtain a security clearance at the secret level. Applicants who currently hold a secret clearance are encourage to apply.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
