Overview

ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN  (F3008 2026-25666):

Bowhead seeks an Engineering Technician at NSWC Crane. The Engineering Technician will be responsible for assembling, installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting equipment. Additional responsibilities include performing routine repairs, retrofitting systems, conducting systems integration, calibration, and testing to ensure operational excellence.

Responsibilities

Essential functions will include: 

  • Assemble, install, maintain, and troubleshoot production equipment for platforms.
  • Conduct routine repairs, system retrofits, and upgrades to support production schedules.
  • Perform systems integration, calibration, and functional testing of equipment and components.
  • Identify and resolve issues affecting the performance and functionality of systems during assembly or testing.
  • Perform in-line repair and testing, ensuring effective operational readiness of equipment and systems.
  • Operate specialized test equipment and troubleshoot complex assemblies for platform components.
  • Coordinate and manage test schedules, ensuring alignment with production timelines for systems.
  • Provide inputs for test plans focusing on equipment reliability, performance, and quality control.
  • Review test plans and procedures to ensure alignment with technical requirements.
  • Conduct or monitor system, subsystem, equipment, or component testing to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Adjust and calibrate equipment under test, capturing and analyzing results to identify root causes of any issues.
  • Propose actionable recommendations based on test data analysis, contributing to continuous improvement for production efforts.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required at a minimum
  • Extensive knowledge and experience supporting production, systems, or related platforms.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, testing, and assembling complex mechanical and electronic systems.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong understanding of test equipment, calibration procedures, and in-line repair
  • Strong understanding of test equipment, calibration procedures, and in-line repair processes specifically for H-60 R/S systems.
  • Proven ability to coordinate and manage multiple tasks or test schedules under tight production timelines.
  • Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
  • Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
  • Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically

SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level.  US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
