The Failure Analysis Team's mission is todeterminerootcause&contributing factors to improve the experience of Tesla's products byreducing field issues; in collaboration withalarge cross-section of otherengineering teams. Engineers&Technicians on the teamare responsible forawide variety of vehicle&energy product systems for existing models andmodelsin development. This is a high visibility individual contributor rolethat includes extensive hands-on work focused on failure analysis&rootcause activities.
We are seeking an experienced engineering technician whowill support all aspects of identifying&characterizing failureson our lowvoltageelectronics. The successful candidate will work directly with otherFailure Analysis Engineers to perform debug, rework,&root cause analysis oninfotainment systems, low voltage controllers,&autopilot electronics.
The successful candidate will be experienced working in asupporting role in an electrical development lab. They will need to beintimately familiar with the use of all common electrical test&measurementequipment. The candidate will need to perform rework&measurement on PCBAsusingextremely small components. What You'll DoDebug complex analog&digital electricalsystems
Support root cause analysis from issueidentification to countermeasure implementation
Use analytical tools&techniques includingFunctional Testing, Electrical Debug, X-Ray, Thermography,&others
Execute experiments to test theories aboutfailure cause
Rework fine pitch electronics&PCBAs
1+ Years of industry experience or demonstrable experiencedebugging&reworking complex electrical circuits
Extensive experience working with tools such as Power Supplies, Oscilloscopes, Curve Tracer, Function Generator, etc.
Extremely proficient at soldering&reworkon complex boards&SMT components
Proficientatreading schematics&debugging analog&digital circuitry
Experience with common digital communication protocols (I2C, CAN,etc.)
Experience with common failure analysis techniques&methods preferred
Experience with power electronics is a plus
