What To ExpectThe Failure Analysis Team's mission is to determine root cause & contributing factors to improve the experience of Tesla's products by reducing field issues; in collaboration with a large cross-section of other engineering teams. Engineers & Technicians on the team are responsible for a wide variety of vehicle & energy product systems for existing models and models in development. This is a high visibility individual contributor role that includes extensive hands-on work focused on failure analysis & root cause activities.We are seeking an experienced engineering technician who will support all aspects of identifying & characterizing failures on our low voltage electronics. The successful candidate will work directly with other Failure Analysis Engineers to perform debug, rework, & root cause analysis on infotainment systems, low voltage controllers, & autopilot electronics.The successful candidate will be experienced working in a supporting role in an electrical development lab. They will need to be intimately familiar with the use of all common electrical test & measurement equipment. The candidate will need to perform rework & measurement on PCBAs using extremely small components. As such they will need to have excellent fine motor skills & soldering skills on SMD components.
