ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

LOCATION: Vancouver, WA

SALARY: $33.26 per hour

SCHEDULE: Full-Time, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Temporary 3-6 months




KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Inspect construction projects involving roads, bridges, drainage systems, and traffic control features
  • Track quantities, measurements, and material usage for ongoing projects
  • Prepare daily inspection reports and maintain organized project records
  • Respond to public inquiries and serve as a liaison for residents affected by construction
  • Review project plans and ensure work complies with specifications and contract standards
  • Conduct material testing and collect data for engineering analysis
  • Assist with field activities including water quality monitoring, sampling, and surveying
  • Coordinate efforts between developers, engineers, and public agencies




WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
  • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or engineering technology or a combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • 2–3 years’ experience in construction inspection, civil engineering, or similar technical field
  • Familiarity with engineering principles, construction methods, and safety protocols
  • Strong ability to interpret construction drawings and technical specs
  • Proficiency in using surveying instruments, lab test equipment, and basic software tools such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.







PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Work is split between a standard office environment and outdoor field settings
  • Must be able to walk uneven terrain, collect physical samples, and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions during fieldwork
