Engineering Technician – GIS AnalystThe City of College Park is seeking a highly motivated, full-time Engineering Technician – GIS Analyst to support the Public Works Department. This position plays a key role in maintaining and enhancing the City's Geographic Information System (GIS) database and producing high-quality maps and spatial analyses. This role involves frequent interaction with residents, contractors, City staff, and elected officials. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication and customer service skills, advanced computer proficiency, and demonstrated experience working with spatial data.Key Responsibilities: The selected candidate will work closely with the City Engineer and will be responsible for:Supporting capital improvement projectsConducting traffic analysesResponding to and tracking resident concerns related to street infrastructure and public servicesMaintaining and updating the City's GIS databasePerforming geospatial analysis and data managementPreparing technical, print, and digital mapsUpdating and maintaining the City Engineering Department webpageAssisting with a variety of engineering and departmental projects as neededMinimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), or a closely related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceProficiency with Esri ArcGIS products (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online)Valid driver's license in the state of residence with a satisfactory driving recordStrong written and verbal communication skillsHigh level of computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office applicationsCompensation and Benefits: The City of College Park offers a strong benefits package, including:Maryland State Retirement Paid sick leave Vacation benefitsHourly Rate: $31.01 – $32.58, depending on qualifications and experienceTo be considered, all candidates must submit: Complete application at collegeparkmd.govA resume Cover letterThis position is open until August 30, 2026.The City of College Park is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
