Engineering Technician (Construction Materials Testing & Inspections)Direct HireGlen Allen, VA Position OverviewSeeking an Engineering Technician to support geotechnical engineering investigations, residential foundation and footing inspections, and commercial construction materials testing. This is a field-based position focused on third-party and special inspections on active construction sites throughout Central Virginia. This role is well suited for someone who enjoys hands-on work, learning technical procedures, and working as part of a professional inspection and testing team. Responsibilities
Perform field testing of construction materials including concrete, soils, and masonry
Support engineering soil studies and residential foundation and footing inspections
Assist with laboratory testing of soils and concrete as needed
Accurately document field observations, test results, and daily reports
Communicate professionally with project managers, engineers, contractors, and clients
Follow established testing procedures, safety requirements, and company standards
Qualifications
Entry-level to one year of experience in construction materials testing or related construction work
High school diploma or GED required
Valid driver’s license with a positive driving record
Ability to lift and handle materials weighing up to 80 pounds
Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred Qualifications
Previous construction or inspection-related field experience
Exposure to reading construction plans and specifications
Familiarity with field documentation and report writing
