A growing engineering and manufacturing company in Hackensack, New Jersey is seeking a hands-on Engineering Technician / Mechanical Engineering Technician to join a small, collaborative team environment. This role is ideal for someone with a strong mechanical and electrical maintenance background who enjoys wearing multiple hats and supporting both engineering and production operations.

Compensation & Schedule
Base salary range: $80,000 - $100,000 depending on experience
Full-time direct hire opportunity
4-day work week with every Friday off

This position will focus heavily on editing and improving existing designs, troubleshooting equipment issues, and supporting day-to-day engineering functions within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The company specializes in custom engineered equipment and values individuals who are practical, adaptable, and comfortable working directly with machinery and technical teams.

Responsibilities
Modify and update existing mechanical designs and technical drawings using 2D and 3D AutoCAD software
Assist with troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment
Support engineering projects from concept revisions through production implementation
Work closely with manufacturing, maintenance, and procurement teams to keep projects moving efficiently
Perform basic mechanical engineering calculations and assist with equipment improvements
Help identify design changes that improve reliability, functionality, and manufacturability
Interface with vendors and occasionally customers regarding technical questions and project updates
Provide hands-on support on the production floor as needed in a small team environment
Assist with mechanical assemblies, equipment modifications, and system testing when required




Strong hands-on mechanical and electrical maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
Experience editing mechanical designs and technical drawings using AutoCAD 2D and 3D
Ability to perform basic mechanical engineering functions and support equipment troubleshooting
Bachelor"s degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred; Associate"s degree or equivalent technical experience will also be considered
