    Description

    General Responsibilities:

    Perform laboratory testing on construction materials (e.g. soils, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt) while adhering to the testing standards set in place. Communicate with project manager, engineering technicians, and others as applicable regarding the laboratory testing results. Transport samples with associated identifying documentation from the field to the laboratory for testing and analysis. Maintain accurate laboratory records and communicate test results through electronic reporting systems in accordance with quality and regulatory requirements. Maintain and clean equipment, vehicles and work areas. Adhere to strict safety standards.

    Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Assist with lab testing procedures on various materials, including soil, aggregate, concrete, and asphalt.
    • Calibrate and maintain lab equipment to ensure accurate results.
    • Provide clear documentation of results.
    • Follow safety rules and practices. Perform pre-task planning prior to executing work. Report any safety issues or concerns to management.
    • Collaborate with other technicians and engineers.
    • Assist in training and mentoring new lab technicians, if required.

    Requirements:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • A valid driver's license with acceptable violation history may be required
    • Successful completion of related internal safety certifications

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Previous experience in a lab setting or with lab equipment
    • ACI or DOT related certifications
