Engineering Technician IIISev1Tech is looking for an Engineering Technician III who will be assisting in the installation, configuration, and testing of CCTV cameras, access control panels, and intrusion detection sensors and equipment. Perform routine maintenance tasks and has the ability to troubleshoot basic and more complex system issues. While working both under supervision and in self‑guided environments, they confidently demonstrate the ability to handle more responsibilities independently.Effectively install and configure CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems independently. They are responsible for conducting system integration and ensuring compatibility between different components.Additionally, they train junior technicians in alignment with company quality standards and assist in complex problem‑solving.Roles & ResponsibilitiesThe Engineering Technician III role represents a significant advancement within the Electronic Security Systems team, with a focus on leading installation projects, conducting system integration, and providing mentorship to junior technicians. This role plays a critical part in ensuring the successful implementation of complex security solutions and maintaining high‑quality work standards.Independent Project ExecutionLead the installation and configuration of CCTV, access control, and intrusion detection systems independently, ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.Take ownership of project tasks and coordinate with team members to allocate resources effectively and overcome any challenges encountered during project execution.System IntegrationConduct system integration activities to ensure compatibility between different components of electronic security systems, such as cameras, control panels, and sensors.Verify proper functionality and interoperability of integrated systems, troubleshooting and resolving any issues as needed.Training and MentorshipProvide training and mentorship to junior technicians, sharing knowledge and expertise to support their professional development within the organization.Guide junior technicians in performing installation and maintenance tasks, offering feedback and support to enhance their skills and confidence.Technical ExpertiseDemonstrate proficiency in troubleshooting and diagnosing complex system issues, utilizing advanced techniques and problem‑solving strategies to resolve technical challenges effectively.Stay updated on the latest technologies and industry trends related to electronic security systems, applying new knowledge to enhance project outcomes and drive innovation.Leadership and Team CollaborationLead small installation teams, delegating tasks and providing direction to ensure that project objectives are met efficiently and effectively.Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to facilitate communication and coordination, fostering a collaborative work environment that promotes synergy and teamwork.Quality Assurance and ComplianceUphold the organization's commitment to delivering high‑quality workmanship, paying close attention to detail and ensuring adherence to industry standards and best practices.Conduct thorough quality assurance checks on installed systems, verifying compliance with regulatory requirements and client specifications.$32/hr to $36/hr DOEMinimum QualificationsAn active DoD Secret Clearance //OR// Successfully undergo a Background Investigation, & Drug Screen.Must be a U.S. Citizen.Valid Driver's License.Ability to obtain a Passport.Travel up to 50% to CONUS and OCONUS locations may be required.3-5 years of experience in electronic security systems.Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnosing system issues.Familiarity with various manufacturers' equipment and software.Certification and/or experience with one or more of the following ESS or VMS systems: Lenel, AMAG, DMP, Honeywell, Galaxy, FLIR, Axis, and Pelco.Ability to lead small installation teams.Ability to red‑line, read, and interpret architectural blueprints and schematics.Consistently delivers high‑quality workmanship, adhering to industry standards.Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide junior technicians to maintain quality standards.Formal electronics training, to include: Installation Tasks, Soldering, Cable Dressing, Cable Tray, Conduit, and Making/Repairing Connectors.Install, program and document ACS/IDS/CCTV equipment, cable conveyance, antennas and supporting systems.Communication/ Low Voltage Equipment rack and supporting system peripheral installations.Installation of overhead or under‑floor infrastructure (Conduit, EMT, Schedule 40) and low voltage cabling.Installation of cabling for interconnecting various ESS equipment/systems.Use of lifts, ladders, basic hand tools and appropriate safety equipment during installations.Work with SEV1Tech ESS Engineering personnel to select and adapt plans, techniques, designs, or layouts.Analyze technical data to determine applicability to design or installation problems; selects from several possible design layouts; calculates design data; and prepares layouts, detailed specifications, parts lists, estimates, procedures, etc.Conduct tests using all types of instruments; analyzes and evaluates test results; and prepares reports on findings and recommendations.Perform checks and analysis of systems or equipment to determine adequacy of design drawings/criteria. Plans or assists in planning PITCO and SOVT tests, to evaluate equipment performance.Create red‑line mark‑ups of Installation Design Plans (IDP) and works with design engineers to complete as‑built drawings.Desired QualificationsTower Climbing experience/certification.Forklift/ Boom operator experience/certification.Fiber Optic Certification(s).Experienced with Navy Shore Platform Installation Handbook.Knowledge of Government Off‑the‑Shelf (GOTS) physical security system Access Control Enforcer (ACE) and its integration with ACS.Manufacturer certifications if required.
