SCMI1 has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated candidate to fill a role of Librarian for the United States Navy. The candidate will function in accordance with the equivalent responsibilities of an Engineering Technician III to provide technical assistance to the Regional Maintenance Center (RMC) Technical Publication Library (TPL).Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Provide technical data maintenance research for use by local RMC and other designated customersProvide technical documentation to customers upon request to include: drawings, blueprints, technical manuals and publications, and other technical documentation as requested by the customerProvide technical services to the RMC Engineering Department, MSR/ ABR and MSMO contract holders, and all appropriate external government activities during the planning, procurement, and administration of ship repair and modernization projects accomplished by private sector entitiesObtain and maintain access to all applicable electronic databases associated with Technical Documentation including manuals, drawings, and plan filesProvide Distance Support Operation Center (DSOC) function to REROProvide format review of naval message for RMC and make available to intended customers.Track and provide information on CASREPs, and provide command distro with CASREP TippersUnder supervision of government personnel, maintain open access compartments IAW all instructions and requirements.Manage requests and scheduling of RMC Operations Center (RMOC)Support and respond to large-scale events requiring stand-up of command Casualty Assistance Team (CAT) and RMOC Battle Watch FloorSecurity Clearance Requirements:Must possess and maintain an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance.Standard Qualifications:Associate Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or other related field2 to 3 years of shipboard technical documentation experienceMinimum of 2 years direct shipboard technical publication library experienceDemonstrated proficiency with naval technical writing, and system validation proceduresAbility to read and interpret NSI's, NSTM's, drawings, and other technical documentationAbility to coordinate with internal and external stakeholdersMS Office suite proficiency requiredFamiliarity with Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual requirementsDirect knowledge of naval message writing formatDirect knowledge of CASREP writing formatAbility to use clear and concise oral and written communicationsPlease note that your resume and candidacy is subject to customer approval and acceptance and clearing of the required background check.
