SCMI1 has an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated professional to fill the role of Microminiature (2M) and MTR Certification Operator for the United States Navy. The candidate will function in accordance with the equivalent responsibilities of an Engineering Technician IV to provide critical technical assistance to United States Navy Systems Commands, NAVSEA, Fleet, and other Naval Support Activities.Essential Duties & Responsibilities:Perform 2M/ MTR inspections and certificationsEnsure compliance with Navy 2M Manual and Joint Fleet Maintenance ManualProvide and update 2M/ MTR Readiness ReportsPrepare Certificates of Compliance and Scope of Competency inspection letters as requiredMaintain 2M/ MTR recertification and inspector qualificationsProvide on-site technical assistance to fleet personnel regarding 2M/ MTR issuesEvaluate 2M/ MTR technicians for proficiency and knowledge by administering written and practical examinations.Coordinate requests for funding, schedule manpower and equipment required to inspect and assess Navy Activity 2M/ MTR programsSecurity Clearance Requirements:Must possess and maintain an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret Security Clearance.Minimum Qualifications and Educational Requirements:Associate degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or other related field3 to 5 years of Navy 2M/ MTR experienceBe currently 2M/ MTR certifiedComplete Navy 2M/ MTR technician recertification courseAbility to complete Navy 2M/ MTR technician recertifier requalification course every 18 months.Ability to complete local 2M/ MTR Inspector qualification under instructionHave completed at least one tour of duty as a 2M/ MTR Inspector or 2M InstructorMS Office suite proficiency requiredFamiliarity with Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual requirementsAbility to use clear and concise oral and written communicationsPlease note that your resume and candidacy is subject to customer approval and acceptance and clearing of the required background check.
