Potential upcoming pay increase: Pending AFSCME ratification and City Council approval, this position is proposed to receive a 3% salary adjustment plus a 3% cost-of-living adjustment effective July 1, 2026.
This position may be eligible for the following additional pay, up to a maximum of 10%:
The anticipated hiring range for the Engineering Technician IV position is $36.17 (first step) to $37.98 or $39.87 (second or third step). The City of Medford determines starting pay based on an evaluation of relevant education, experience, and qualifications as provided by the applicant in their application materials, alongside others who perform work of comparable character consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay Act. Six steps are included in this salary range, allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Work is performed in both an office and field environment. While performing duties for this job in the field, the employee may be exposed to varying weather conditions; employee may be exposed to noise, dust, chemicals, paint, and traffic hazards. Proper personal protective equipment must be worn when necessary.
The physical demands here are represented of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, sit, walk, bend, twist, talk and hear; use their hands to operate a computer and phone; and reach with their hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. May pull manhole covers and walk over rough terrain.
