SUMMARY

Provide crucial services for the maintenance / engineering department and any other departments, by sourcing and purchasing spare parts and project components, creating and managing equipment and facilities drawings, associated documentation etc. for maintenance, project and regulatory use. Assist with any additional items, which are required to insure the ability of our facility to produce any of our products.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Source and purchase spare parts and components for projects and maintenance needs.

Negotiate pricing for components for projects and maintenance needs.

Deliver requested parts to requesting co-worker.

Interact and communicate with co-workers from any/all departments to execute various designs.

Interact and communicate with vendors and fabricators to produce one-off designs.

As needed, travel to retrieve emergency parts, or custom components from local vendors.

Utilize Solidworks and AutoCAD to create and or manage civil, architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, P&ID, sheet metal, machine assembly, and machine detail drawings, for the facility and all equipment.

Manage all other equipment documentation libraries including spare parts documents and installation, operation and maintenance manuals.

Assist with managing and creating utility reports.

Complete and submit periodical regulatory/compliance documentation.

Actively support the maintenance team during a trouble-shooting event or any other critical “all hands on deck” event.

Manage contractors as needed (e.g. project preparation, on site presence etc.) in order to assist the maintenance manager and director of engineering.

Assist the director of engineering during capital expenditure projects as needed.

Work together with everyone in the department on continuously improving SOP, sourcing / value etc.

Manage and execute metal recycling, arrange and execute hazardous material waste disposal.

Maintain stock of frequently used parts, and administer stockpile management.

Occasionally arrange for local, regional, and international shipments for parts and equipment.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

Bachelor's Degree in computer aided drafting and design, or related.

5 years' experience in design of electromechanical equipment, required.

Experience creating fabrication drawing sets with bill of materials required.

Experience, sourcing, purchasing, negotiating prices and warehousing components/fabrication.

Ability to see projects through from conception through completion.

Display mechanical aptitude and perform electrical/electronic troubleshooting and failure analysis to the component level.

Must be capable of electromechanical prototype assembly and debug using hand tools and electronic test equipment.

Technical report writing is necessary.

Ability to read and understand, analyze and create various types of technical drawings, mechanical and electrical diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, flow drawings, technical documents and procedures.

Self-motivation and integrity to work with little or no supervision.

Must have good record keeping and organizational skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is necessary.

Proficiency in Solidworks or equivalent is necessary.

Proficiency in AutoCAD is necessary.

Project management experience a plus.

Food industry experience a plus.
