Summary You will serve as an Engineering Technician (Mechanical) in the Engineering and Planning Department of PSNS and IMF. Responsibilities You will develop technical work documents which define detailed requirements necessary to accomplish authorized work for assigned projects. You will perform analysis and special studies for the purpose of developing or evaluating improvements in design, maintenance procedures or materials for assigned systems. You will perform functional checkout, grooming, adjustment and test of new or modernized ship systems in an operational evaluation environment. You will evaluate ship repair and overhaul or test and grooming problems to diagnose and correct deficiencies. You will monitor work in progress and completed work, to make sure work documents are of acceptable quality and conform to current standards. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing technical engineering services involving the maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of mechanical systems on US Naval Vessels, including developing technical work documents, quality assurance forms, and ordering material.
