HEICO Component Repair Group is currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Engineering Technician to support operational activities within our FAA-regulated facility.
The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with strong technical skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced aerospace environment, who also has a strong background in electronics and familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as electrical harness fabrication and assembly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Troubleshooting and diagnostics of equipment and systems
- Support engineering personnel with daily operational and project-related tasks
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical documentation
- Collect, record, and analyze technical data
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs, inspection records, test reports, and technical documentation
- Ensure compliance with FAA, AS9100, safety, and company requirements
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while properly utilizing required tools and equipment
Skills / Education and Experience
- High school diploma or GED required
- Degree or technical certification in Electronics, Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, Aviation Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in electronics, engineering support, maintenance, aerospace, manufacturing, or a related technical field preferred
- Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems, components, and troubleshooting methods
- Experience fabricating, assembling, and repairing electrical harnesses and cable assemblies
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, engineering drawings, and technical manuals
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
- Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
Physical Demands
- Ability to sit, stand, and move throughout the facility for extended periods
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. occasionally
- Frequent use of hands and fingers for wiring, harness fabrication, equipment maintenance, and operation of diagnostic tools
- Visual acuity to identify wiring, take measurements, and see small markings on components.
- Occasional exposure to shop / test environment requiring the use of PPE and with moderate noise levels
