Job Description:

The Engineering Technician supports assembly and manufacturing operations by serving as a technical bridge between engineering and the production floor. This hands-on role focuses on technical support, troubleshooting, pilot builds, training, and process support. The Engineering Technician works closely with engineers and manufacturing associates to resolve production issues, support new product introductions, and ensure processes and work instructions are clearly understood and followed. 2 openings available!

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support to production and engineering teams, focusing on troubleshooting and process support rather than direct production labor.
  • Troubleshoot manufacturing, assembly, and electronic issues as they arise on the production floor, ensuring timely resolution to minimize downtime.
  • Support new product development and pilot builds by assembling first-article or first-time units prior to release into full production.
  • Assist with root cause analysis of production issues and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Help train manufacturing associates and technicians, both formally and informally, on processes, work instructions, and best practices.
  • Review, update, and follow work instructions and standard processes to ensure consistency and adherence to established procedures.
  • Work collaboratively with process engineers, product engineers, and manufacturing personnel to align technical requirements with production capabilities.
  • Balance time between bench or desk work (approximately 40-50%) and floor support, communication, and coordination activities (approximately 50-60%).
  • Support production as needed during overtime periods and occasional weekend rotations to meet operational demands.

Essential Skills:

  • Hands-on experience in electronics manufacturing, assembly, or technical support.
  • Experience troubleshooting electronic or electro-mechanical assemblies in a production environment.
  • Strong ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with operators, technicians, and engineers.
  • Confidence and comfort in providing technical guidance or direction to others on the production floor.
  • Willingness to work onsite on a full-time basis, with flexibility to support overtime and occasional weekend work as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

  • Background in electronics, electrical, or related technical disciplines.
  • Experience supporting new product introductions and pilot builds in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with continuous improvement practices and participation in root cause analysis activities.
  • Ability to interpret and follow detailed work instructions and process documentation.

Work Environment:

  • The Engineering Technician works in a hands-on electronics manufacturing environment, splitting time between bench or desk-based technical work and active support on the production floor.
  • Approximately 40-50% of the role involves bench or desk work such as troubleshooting, documentation, and coordination with engineering, while 50-60% focuses on floor support, direct communication, and real-time problem solving with manufacturing teams.
  • The position is fully onsite and requires flexibility to support overtime and occasional weekend rotations to meet production needs.
  • The environment is highly collaborative, with frequent interaction among process engineers, product engineers, technicians, and operators, and emphasizes knowledge sharing, technical guidance, and continuous improvement.
