Teslas Energy Engineering R&D team is seeking a skilled and highly motivated Fabricator to join the team and contribute to our mission to accelerate the worlds transition to sustainable energy. The prototype fabricator will be a member of Teslas Energy Engineering Organization supporting various energy-focused programs.

Responsibilities:
• Perform hands-on fabrication and welding (MIG, TIG, ARC) of steel, aluminum, and stainless-steel components. • Utilize fabrication equipment such as bandsaws, lathes, drill presses, plasma cutters, and hydraulic press brakes to build, finish, and paint racks, fixtures, and production tooling. • Design and CAD & Prototyping using 3D CADCAM software (Catia V5.6, SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Mastercam) and 3D printing technologies (FDM, SLA, SLS). • Interpret Bill of Materials (BOM) breakdowns to coordinate material ordering, manage raw material inventory, and scrap control. • Execute the mechanical assembly of custom dollies, carts, and racks, ensuring structural integrity and quality fit. • Provide real-time support with factory systems (WARP, MFS, MOS) to ensure accuracy in material flow, routing, labeling, and transaction history. • Support PC-Change with cutover management. • Apply lean manufacturing practices (5S, JIT, Kanban) to configure lineside setups and improve workflow efficiency. • Support material handling and facility updates while maintaining strict adherence to safety requirements.
Requirements:
• Proficiently operate forklifts, scissor lifts, EPJs, and flatbeds to support material handling and facility updates. • Strong attention to detail and safety in execution of fabrication work. • Ability to manage time effectively and complete multiple jobs in parallel. • Strong communication and collaboration skills for working closely with engineering and production teams.
Physical Demands:
• Able to perform physical work for extended periods of time (up to 12 hours per day). • Able to stand and walk for up to 12 hours a day, including over varied and uneven terrain. • Frequently and repetitively lift, push, and carry up to 35 lbs., including the ability to carry 20 lbs. up and down stairs. • Frequently and repetitively bend, lift, and reach to install parts. • Stoop, lay, bend, reach, squat, kneel, crouch, twist, and crawl for extended periods of time (up to 12 hours a day). • Able to climb and maintain balance on ladders, scaffolding, or other high structures. • Able to find issues in a work process and receive safety signals using sight, touch, and hearing.

Expected Compensation:
$34.73 - $46.56 per hour, cash and stock awards, benefits. Pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements dependent on the position offered.
