  • Create accurate Bills of Materials for non-engineered solutions, ensuring completeness and cost-effectiveness.
  • Validate engineered solutions to confirm they meet design specifications, safety standards, and project requirements.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain complete design packages and build packages for use by engineering and production teams.
  • Quote and identify alternate electrical components to optimize delivery timelines, design performance, and overall project cost.
  • Act as a liaison between Operations, Engineering, and stakeholders involved in as-built documentation to ensure alignment and accurate records.
  • Schedule and execute design and manufacturing kickoffs and reviews to support smooth project execution.
  • Perform AutoCAD schematic work and design development for industrial control panels and related systems.
  • Apply design, fabrication, and troubleshooting skills daily within the industrial automation space.
  • Work with and interpret schematics and engineering drawings to support manufacturing and assembly activities.
  • Handle and specify electrical components such as VFDs, PLCs, motors, fans, and related equipment in control panel applications.
  • Support UL certification and DGU course completion when training sessions are offered, contributing to compliance and quality standards.
  • Communicate clearly and frequently with internal team members and external partners to coordinate project activities and resolve issues.
  • Use analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve design, fabrication, and system performance issues.
  • Support regional projects through occasional travel, assisting with design, troubleshooting, and implementation at various sites.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum of 2+ years of exposure to industrial control panels, either through wiring builds or programming experience.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience working in a technician role within an industrial automation, fabrication, or manufacturing setting involving customized products.
  • 2-3+ years of experience working in a heavy industrial, automation, or manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to apply design, fabrication, and troubleshooting skills daily in industrial automation projects.
  • Familiarity with working from schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Hands-on experience with electrical components such as VFDs, PLCs, motors, and fans.
  • Electrical background with the ability to read electrical drawings and understand basic electrical principles.
  • Experience from a manufacturing environment with product-related electrical or mechanical work on large products or equipment.
  • Experience with control panels or strong exposure to control panel design and/or panel building.
  • Some experience with CAD software or drawing programs.
  • Strong communication skills for frequent interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills applied to design, fabrication, and system troubleshooting.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills to manage multiple tasks and collaborate effectively.
  • Motivation and drive to contribute to the growth of the local and regional organization.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Successful completion of UL certification and DGU courses as required when training sessions are available.
  • Experience with fabrication processes in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
  • Understanding of how products are manufactured and fabricated, including how components come together into a finished product.
  • Exposure to industrial automation controls and related systems.
  • Experience with three-phase electrical systems is a plus.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is a plus.
  • Experience using tools such as Bluebeam for drawings and documentation is beneficial.
