Minimum Qualifications:
Associates Degree in Engineering, Construction Project Management, Environmental Science, or a related field required; Supplemented by five years of experience in Engineering, Construction Project Management, or Environmental Science to include one year lead or supervisory experience; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification Required: Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia state drivers license. A Level 1B Certified Inspector Certification is preferred.
Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities: Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in performance of the essential functions and learn, comprehend, and apply all county or departmental policies, practices, and procedures necessary to function effectively in the position.

Examination:
The examination will consist of an evaluation of education and experience, accomplished by analysis of the application. Application must document that the applicant possesses the minimum knowledge, skills, education and experience as listed to be rated as qualified. Purpose of Classification:
The purpose of this classification is to perform operational duties related to preparing and/or reviewing skilled engineering drawings for large- scale projects or systems, including performing engineering calculations, conducting special assignments, and making initial determinations regarding engineering compliance issues. Engineering Technician, Senior is distinguished from Engineering Technician in that the former performs tasks utilizing broad knowledge of engineering principles and practices and makes initial determinations regarding engineering compliance issues, whereas the latter applies specialized engineering principles to interpret and apply land development regulations. This series is distinguished from the Professional Engineering series by the performance of duties not requiring completion of an advanced education in engineering.
Essential Functions:
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
Oversees engineering office, field operations and survey activities by collecting data on projects; supervises layout of field work; conducts research on projects and inspects all phases of projects during construction.
Provides timely customer service by responding to construction inquiries. Assesses and evaluates property owners concerns and instructs the construction crews on the corrective action.
Communicates construction plans and procedures to the crews and communicates procedures and standards to crews in order to assure a quality project.
Conducts road evaluations and cost analysis for all projects and assesses road conditions and determines the corrective measures needed to resurface the roads and calculates project costs.
Assists with the analysis of budgets, performance measures and full time equivalent calculations for each crew task.
Prepares (MS4) (NPDES), performance measures and the County Managers quarterly reports. Uses queries in the work order system to provide data and analyze reports.
