Engineering Technician

Job Description:

Title: Engineering Technician
Location: Sunnyvale California 94086
Duration: 6 Month Contract (Possibility of Extension based on Performance and Business Needs)
Pay Range: $38 - $48/hr. On W2 Contract

POSITION OVERVIEW:
•   Travel within the Bay Area is required
•   The SW HIL team is responsible for building and maintaining various test assets to validate the design of our autonomous vehicle. As an Engineering Technician, you will support the build, maintenance, and troubleshooting of these simulation machines.
•   This role is essential to the execution stage of the autonomous software development program, ensuring the test infrastructure operates predictably at all times. 

Responsibilities:
•   Support and track configurations of test platforms
•   Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair test hardware
•   Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot complex issues
•   Build and repair harnesses based on electrical diagrams
•   Assemble, install, and configure computers
•   Install vehicle system components into server racks
•   Buildout networking infrastructure
•   Clearly document progress on tasks and projects
•   Maintain lab tools and equipment

Qualifications:
•   Knowledge of automotive CAN bus networks
•   Experience using Linux and running scripts
•   Working knowledge of Google Suite, JIRA, and Confluence
•   Proficiency using a digital multimeter and oscilloscope
•   Ability to read and understand electrical schematics
•   Experience building and troubleshooting computers
•   Excellent organizational and documentation skills
•   Capacity to work independently 
•   Ability to lift up to 60 lbs

Bonus Qualifications:
•   BS in Engineering
•   3+ years of autonomous vehicle experience 
•   Data center experience
•   IPC Certification
