    Description

    ASR is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician V for an exciting opportunity supporting a Department of Defense robotics and autonomous systems program in Blue Grass Army Depot, KY. This role is responsible for performing complex, non-routine engineering support assignments, including planning and executing limited-scope projects or significant portions of larger, more diverse technical efforts.

    Responsibilities:

    • Perform complex, non-routine engineering support assignments involving responsibility for planning and conducting a complete project of relatively limited scope or a defined portion of a larger, more diverse project.
    • Select, adapt, and apply plans, techniques, designs, layouts, procedures, and technical approaches to meet project, program, and mission requirements.
    • Support system integration, testing, troubleshooting, sustainment, and technical evaluation of robotic, autonomous, unmanned, and related technical systems.
    • Coordinate with engineering, logistics, maintenance, program, Government, contractor, and related technical personnel to resolve problems and support cross-functional work execution.
    • Review, analyze, and integrate technical work performed by other team members to ensure completeness, consistency, technical adequacy, and alignment with requirements.
    • Execute work with a high degree of independence after objectives, requirements, and design approaches are outlined by a supervisor or professional engineer.
    • Conduct technical research, field data collection, testing support, documentation review, and corrective action tracking as required.
    • Prepare technical documentation, test records, status updates, engineering notes, reports, and other program materials to support customer reviews and contract deliverables.
    • Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians as appropriate.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering Technology or a related technical field preferred.
    • Associate's degree combined with extensive specialized technical training, or equivalent military experience, required.
    • Minimum of 8 to 10 years of progressive engineering support experience, including a proven record of handling complex, non-routine technical assignments.
    • Demonstrated ability to plan and conduct complete projects or significant portions of larger, diverse projects.
    • Proficiency in selecting and adapting technical plans, techniques, designs, layouts, procedures, and approaches to meet mission requirements.
    • Skilled in reviewing, analyzing, and integrating technical work produced by other team members.
    • Strong interpersonal and coordination skills, with the ability to resolve cross-functional technical issues involving related work activities.
    • Experience supporting robotic, autonomous, unmanned, engineering, maintenance, logistics, or sustainment systems preferred.
    • Ability to work independently once objectives, requirements, and design approaches are established by a supervisor or professional engineer.
    • Ability to train, mentor, supervise, or direct the work of lower-level technicians as required.
    • Commitment to ensuring deliverables meet technical adequacy standards and fully satisfy mission and customer requirements.
    • Ability to communicate effectively with Government stakeholders, engineering personnel, technical teams, military end users, subcontractors, and a diverse range of individuals.
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, safety, and compliance.
    • Qualified applicants must be able to pass a background check.
    • Active Secret clearance required.
    • Ability to travel up to 50%.
    • Government contracting experience preferred.
