    Gnostech, LLC is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician V to support the Navy and Marine Corps (NAVWAR/NIWC Pacific) Meteorology and Oceanography (METOC) In Service Engineering (ISEA) Programs. The Engineering Technician IV role provides advanced technical and engineering support for the development, integration, testing, maintenance, and sustainment of METOC systems. This position involves working as part of a small team and frequently interacting with the engineering staff and end users. This technician applies conventional engineering practices, adapts procedures for unique testing and diagnostic scenarios, and develops technical solutions to support critical C4I systems and equipment.OverviewLocationSan Diego, CAHybrid or remote work is not authorizedJob TitleEngineering Technician VSalary$39.90-$42.31 per hourShiftN/ATravelYes, may involve several Contiguous United States (CONUS)/Outside Continental United States (OCONUS) trips as required.Position ResponsibilitiesDeliver technical and engineering support for the full lifecycle of METOC systems, including design, integration, testing, and maintenance.Support Fleet Technical Sustainment Support (TSS) for end customers and ensure effective post-deployment system readiness.Develop and prepare technical documentation—manuals, specifications, reports, and drawings—to support engineering and sustainment activities.Extract and analyze engineering data to develop or review technical designs, schematics, and specifications.Recording test data, identifying and resolving issues of significant complexity, and preparing formal reports.Conduct root cause analysis, troubleshooting, and system-level problem solving for complex, time-sensitive technical issues.Assist in engineering analysis and re-design efforts for obsolete or unsupported system components; prepare detailed schematics and documentation.Maintain, update, and refine maintenance concepts, procedures, and criteria throughout the system lifecycle.Provide on-site technical assistance including support for Casualty Reports and System Operational Verification Tests (SOVT).Perform and document tests and experiments; adapt or modify procedures and equipment as required.Construct and evaluate prototype or experimental models in support of engineering projects.Work independently or collaboratively on moderately complex projects, ensuring technical adequacy and compliance with guidance.May assist lower-level technicians and interface with professionals across departments and locations.Minimum Security ClearanceCurrent active Secret ClearanceRequired Qualifications and SkillsDoD 8570 IAT Level II, Security+ CE or equivalentExperience creating technical reports and documentation using word processing or desktop publishing tools.Familiarity with CANES (Consolidated Afloat Network Enterprise Services).Hands on experience both Linux and Windows operating systemsAbility and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally (2–4 trips per year).Must be a U.S. citizen and possess or be eligible to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.Desired SkillsStrong interpersonal skills and experience working in small, collaborative technical teams.Ability to plan and manage tasks independently while following general engineering guidance.Comfortable working in fast-paced environments that require adaptability, critical thinking, and attention to detail.Windows/Linux OS CertificationEducation and Training RequiredA technical school diploma or an associate degree in engineering, science, or related disciplineMinimum Years of Experience5 years of hands-on experience testing, diagnosing, and repairing C4I electronic equipment.===============================================================Gnostech Inc. is an Equal Opportunity/Affirmative Action Employer.
