This senior-level technician will independently plan and execute complex engineering projects or studies, serve as a technical authority in specialized engineering areas, and provide leadership and guidance to lower-level technical staff.
Responsibilities:
Independently plan, organize, and accomplish complete engineering support projects or technical studies of broad scope and complexity involving robotic, autonomous, unmanned, and related technical systems.
Serve as a senior technical expert in specialized engineering areas, including system integration, testing, troubleshooting, sustainment, technical evaluation, or environmental and operational factors affecting electronic or complex systems.
Apply creativity, sound technical judgment, and advanced problem-solving skills to devise approaches, resolve design or operational issues, and make decisions in situations where standard methods, procedures, or techniques may not fully apply.
Select, adapt, and apply advanced engineering plans, techniques, designs, layouts, procedures, and technical approaches to meet project objectives and mission requirements.
Review, analyze, and integrate technical work performed by other team members to ensure technical adequacy, completeness, consistency, and alignment with overall project objectives.
Consult with supervisors or professional engineers on unusual, controversial, or policy-related technical matters while otherwise operating with a high degree of independence.
Prepare and review technical documentation, test records, engineering notes, reports, status updates, corrective action documentation, and customer-facing program materials.
Train, mentor, supervise, and provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians and technical support personnel.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a highly related scientific field strongly preferred.
Advanced specialized technical certifications, senior-level military technical training, or equivalent specialized training highly preferred.
Minimum of 10 to 12+ years of progressive engineering, engineering support, technical integration, testing, troubleshooting, sustainment, or related technical experience.
Significant experience leading complex technical projects or serving as a technical authority in a specialized engineering niche, such as environmental effects on electronics, advanced materials, complex systems integration, robotics, autonomous systems, or unmanned systems.
Deep subject matter expertise in one or more engineering or technical domains relevant to mission systems, system integration, testing, technical analysis, sustainment, or operational support.
Proven ability to independently plan, conduct, and complete projects or studies of broad scope and high complexity while maintaining alignment with overall project objectives.
Advanced ability to select, adapt, and apply technical plans, methods, designs, procedures, and approaches when standard engineering methods may not be sufficient.
Demonstrated creativity, judgment, and technical decision-making skills in resolving complex design, operational, integration, or sustainment challenges.
Ability to train, mentor, supervise, and provide technical direction to lower-level technicians and technical support personnel.
Strong ability to coordinate with personnel in related technical activities and resolve complex cross-functional problems.
Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, seeking guidance from supervisors or professional engineers only for unusual, controversial, or policy-related matters.
Ability to communicate effectively with Government stakeholders, engineering personnel, technical teams, military end users, subcontractors, and a diverse range of individuals.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced work environment while maintaining accuracy, responsiveness, safety, and compliance.
Qualified applicants must be able to pass a background check.
