    Geodesicx, Inc. is in search of an Engineering Technician VI to join our team in the Charleston, SC area.

    The Engineering Technician VI is responsible for preparing designs and specifications for various complex equipment or systems, planning approaches to solve design problems, and conducting experiments to develop equipment or systems characterized by difficult performance requirements. This role supports various Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) and Command and Control (C2) systems across multiple platforms supporting Department of Defense end users.

    Specific Duties:

    • Prepare designs and specifications for various complex equipment or systems, such as heating systems in office buildings or new electronic components for instrumentation equipment.
    • Plan approaches to solve design problems and conceive and recommend new design techniques.
    • Resolve design problems with contract personnel and assure compatibility of design with other parts of the system.
    • Design and coordinate test setups and experiments to prove or disprove the feasibility of preliminary designs.
    • Advise equipment users on redesign to solve unique operational deficiencies.
    • Plan and conduct various experiments to develop equipment or systems characterized by difficult performance requirements.
    • Arrange for the fabrication of pilot models and determine test procedures and design of special test equipment.
    • Provide technical support for the design, development, production, installation, and test & evaluation of C4ISR and C2 systems.

    Experience Requirements:

    • 12 years of practical experience with an Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or 14 years with a High School diploma or GED.
    • Notable experience in preparing designs and specifications for various complex equipment or systems.
    • Experience in planning approaches to solve design problems, conceiving and recommending new design techniques, and resolving design problems with contract personnel.

    Education Requirements:

    • Associate’s Degree in Engineering Technology, math, or science; or

    • Formal electronics training from Technical School, Class A or B military school in electronics or communications, or a four-year electronics apprentice program; or

    • High School diploma or GED
