NDI is seeking an experienced Engineering Technician IV to provide technical support for Commercial Off-the-Shelf (COTS) and Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) engineering activities in support of the Ship Self-Defense System (SSDS) MK2 suite of equipment. The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on technical expertise, experience with obsolescence analysis, and a solid understanding of SSDS hardware and software.
This position is an on-site position based out of Virginia Beach, VA.
The position requires U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain an active DOD security clearance.
Role and Responsibilities:
Qualifications and Requirements:
High School Diploma or GED required
Ten (10) years of full-time, hands-on professional experience in installation, troubleshooting, repairing, and/or testing major systems or equipment
Experience substitutions:
Bachelor's degree: 6 years experience required
Associate's degree: 8 years experience required
Experience with FROST or other government databases
Knowledge of DMSMS processes and obsolescence research
Proficient in configuration management practices
Strong understanding of SSDS hardware/software to identify DMSMS solutions, including component-level and higher-level redesign scenarios
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
