Join a leading advanced technology manufacturer supporting the semiconductor industry as an Engineering Technician. Responsibilities

• Build and test complex mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems in a cleanroom environment according to established specifications and procedures.
• Produce products in accordance with established quality standards and technical documentation, ensuring compliance with all specifications.
• Observe, identify, and report recurring or ongoing problems in product construction or operation, and actively support the resolution of these issues.
• Contribute to product and process improvements by providing feedback, suggestions, and constructive ideas for design and process changes.
• Manufacture and deliver high-level, complex systems following documented procedures and work instructions.
• Diagnose and solve technical problems that arise during assembly, wiring, testing, troubleshooting, and repair activities.
• Oversee the complete process from assembly through test, acting as a reference point and subject matter resource in the area of expertise.
• Set a positive example for other team members in work quality, safety, discipline, and adherence to procedures.
• Actively participate in pilot production for new products and support the transition from pilot builds to volume production.
• Develop, refine, and improve technical product documentation (TPD), processes, records, and other relevant production documentation.
• Investigate the impact of new procedures, process changes, or product modifications on the production process before implementation.
• Acquire and maintain in-depth knowledge of new and existing products, processes, sub-modules, and complete systems.
• Understand and apply the correlation between individual modules and the overall system, including relationships with other subsystems.
• Share and pass on relevant technical expertise to colleagues to support team capability and knowledge growth.
• Support strong teamwork by actively contributing ideas, collaborating on problem solving, and participating in departmental tasks and initiatives.
• Coordinate daily activities in line with the production plan and monitor the practical status of work in progress.
• Closely control and manage the use of tools, materials, and equipment to ensure availability, proper use, and care.
• Support lean manufacturing initiatives such as 5S, Kaizen, and process improvement projects to enhance efficiency and quality.
• Perform inspection, testing, and troubleshooting using appropriate test equipment, schematics, and documentation.
• Use computer systems to access documentation, enter data, record test results, and support production and engineering activities.

Essential Skills

• Mechanical assembly and testing skills with strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work with complex systems.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, mechanical drawings, and electrical schematics.
• Experience with electrical and electro-mechanical assembly, including wiring and component installation.
• Proficiency in testing and troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems using test equipment.
• Hands-on experience using hand tools and basic mechanical and electrical tools safely and effectively.
• Demonstrated troubleshooting, repair, and inspection skills in a manufacturing or technical environment.
• Comfort working in a cleanroom environment and following strict procedures and cleanliness standards.
• Computer skills sufficient to work with documentation, records, test data, and basic production or engineering software.
• Strong mechanical inclination and ability to understand the relationship between sub-modules and complete systems.
• Education such as a diploma, certification, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Chemical, or a related field, or equivalent manufacturing/technical experience.
• Manufacturing internship or co-op experience or comparable hands-on experience in a production or technical setting.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Lean manufacturing training, such as introductory Lean, 5S, Kaizen, or value stream mapping (VSM), is preferred.
• Experience supporting process improvement, engineering testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing or high-tech, high-complexity production environments is beneficial.
• Experience working with prototypes and supporting pilot production activities is an advantage.
• Ability to support and contribute to team-based problem solving and departmental initiatives.
• Strong communication skills to effectively share knowledge and collaborate with engineering and production teams.
• Willingness to grow into more advanced engineering responsibilities over time.

Work Environment

This role operates in a cleanroom environment within the semiconductor industry, working with complex mechanical, electrical, and electro-mechanical systems. The position follows a compressed workweek (CWW) schedule with 12-hour shifts. CWW Days (D1 and D2) run from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and CWW Nights (N1 and N2) run from 6:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. For D1 and N1, Week 1 consists of Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday; Week 2 consists of Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, and every other Wednesday. For D2 and N2, Week 1 consists of Thursday, Friday, and Saturday; Week 2 consists of Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, with every other Wednesday worked. The first two weeks of employment are dedicated to new hire orientation and training, scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., after which technicians transition to the CWW schedule. The environment emphasizes the use of test equipment, hand tools, and computer systems under strict cleanliness and safety standards. The role offers opportunities to work with advanced semiconductor technologies, participate in lean and continuous improvement initiatives, and develop toward more advanced engineering roles. This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilton, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
