Engineering Technician
We are seeking skilled Engineering Technicians to support the assembly, testing, and production of highly advanced semiconductor equipment in a cleanroom manufacturing environment. This position offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology while contributing directly to the production of complex systems used throughout the semiconductor industry.
This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, or engineering technician experience who enjoy solving technical problems, building complex equipment, and working in a highly collaborative team environment. Position Overview
The Engineering Technician is responsible for building, assembling, testing, troubleshooting, and validating complex electro-mechanical systems in accordance with established procedures, engineering specifications, and quality standards.
This role plays a critical part in supporting production, engineering initiatives, process improvements, new product introductions, and continuous improvement activities within a world-class manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Manufacturing & Production
Build, assemble, and test complex mechanical and electrical systems according to documented procedures and specifications.
Perform electro-mechanical assembly of high-precision equipment and subassemblies.
Support the complete manufacturing process from assembly through final testing.
Utilize engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and work instructions to complete assigned tasks.
Ensure products meet defined quality standards and customer requirements.
Coordinate activities according to production schedules and manufacturing priorities.
Testing & Troubleshooting
Perform system testing, verification, and validation activities.
Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and system-level issues.
Use diagnostic equipment and testing tools to identify root causes of failures.
Document findings and support corrective actions.
Assist with repair, rework, and resolution of non-conforming products.
Process Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, product quality, and workflow.
Support Lean Manufacturing initiatives including:
5S
Kaizen
Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
Continuous Improvement Programs
Participate in pilot builds and new product introductions.
Help evaluate and implement process improvements and procedural updates.
Collaboration & Teamwork
Partner closely with manufacturing, engineering, quality, and operations teams.
Share technical knowledge and best practices with team members.
Support a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Serve as a technical resource within your area of expertise.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills
Hands-on experience with mechanical assembly, testing, troubleshooting, or repair.
Ability to read and interpret:
Blueprints
Engineering drawings
Electrical schematics
Wiring diagrams
Experience using hand tools, power tools, measurement devices, and test equipment.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Experience working with electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
Ability to troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical issues.
Experience
Manufacturing, technical, engineering technician, maintenance, assembly, or testing experience.
Experience working in production, manufacturing, aerospace, defense, medical device, semiconductor, electronics, or related technical environments.
Internship, co-op, military technical training, or equivalent hands-on technical experience will be considered.
Education
Preferred but not required:
Associate Degree in Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology, or related field.
Technical Diploma or Certification.
Bachelor"s Degree in Engineering or related discipline.
Equivalent hands-on technical experience may substitute for formal education.
Preferred Qualifications
Cleanroom manufacturing experience.
Semiconductor industry experience.
Electro-mechanical assembly experience.
Experience performing prototype builds and testing.
Lean Manufacturing certifications or training.
Familiarity with:
Kaizen
5S
Continuous Improvement methodologies
Experience with inspection and quality verification processes.

Week 1: Sunday - Tuesday
Week 2: Sunday - Wednesday (every other Wednesday)

Week 1: Thursday - Saturday
Week 2: Wednesday - Saturday (every other Wednesday)
Training will be conducted Monday-Friday during the first two weeks prior to transitioning into assigned shifts.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilton, CT.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $26.00/hr.
